hey! thx a lot for the comments!

i created the 3D text in Rhino 4.0 (a 3d modelling program).

Then i rendered the file twice (once with the background and once without) to .png format. png format creates a alpha pic too so i used the alpha to create a selection in photoshop to isolate the 3d text from the render without the background and then i just placed that layer above the one with the background. This enabled me to het elements behind the text in photoshop like the water and fire and the hero.
